Christmas preparations are well underway at Shropshire Brass Ensemble, following a great rehearsal as we continue preparing for a busy and exciting run of festive engagements.
We’re particularly looking forward to Christmas at Pitchford Hall on Saturday 5th December 2026, where we’ll be performing some new repertoire as part of a wonderful 18th Century Christmas-themed afternoon.
The Ensemble will be performing alongside Bel Canto in The Orangery at 3.00pm, before the main Christmas Concert in the Main Hall at 4.30pm, featuring the 18th Century Concert Orchestra.
We also feel incredibly lucky to be sharing the afternoon with the wonderful Crispian Steele-Perkins, one of Britain’s best-known classical trumpeters.
With beautiful surroundings, period music and plenty of festive atmosphere, it promises to be a very special afternoon.
More Christmas engagements
Our festive diary doesn’t stop there. We’ll also be performing at:
Sunday 13th December — Shrewsbury Abbey for the Masonic Province of Shropshire Christmas Carol Service
Monday 14th December — St Alkmund’s Church, Shrewsbury, for another special Christmas Concert
There’s lots of music to prepare, some lovely new repertoire to get under our fingers and plenty to look forward to over the coming weeks.
Christmas is definitely on its way at Shropshire Brass Ensemble!
